Thoughts and prayers are with the families and soldiers at Fort Hood
The thoughts and prayers of all people are with the families and soldiers at Fort Hood.
They suffered a brutal attack today. One of their own, a Major, attacked soldiers at a graduation ceremony. Regardless of the reasons, this is a brutal attack. On their homebase, where the soldiers come to be “home” to be safe after being in a tough war situation where there is no safety. A base is where soldiers place their families to be safe while they are gone. A base is a family. For one of their own to attack them, is a tragedy and a huge psychological blow.
It doesn’t help that the person who attacked is a convert to Islam. This just makes it worse for the soldiers. There are soldiers who are in training - basic training an advanced training- at Fort Hood. For them, this is a first lesson in how tragedy hits home. It is a lesson they didn’t think they would learn before they were fully trained.
Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

While at risk of offending some, I propose that the time for America to be polite and “politically correct” is long over. Some may find the idea of “racial profiling” to be unjust and unlawful. I suggest that Americans have been very naive. I am no longer willing to continue puting more American lives in jeopardy because I am concerned with being polite. I propose that America begin to seriously investigate those who claim to Muslim or of Middle Eastern decent. I worry and pray for my family that is currently in Iraq, while here on our own American soil such a tragedy can take place. How dare we sit by trying to be politically correct while lives are at stake. I propose we investigate with every possible resourse in order to find and weed out the dangerous Muslims that are infecting our country and endangering the lives of Americans. If you are offended by my comments, I would like you to consider this…when is the last time you heard of Catholics, Protestants, Hinus, or even Jews brutaly terminating American lives?
On a personal note, my deepest love and sympathy along with my sincerest thoughts and prayers are with all those effected by the Fort Hood tragedy.
I happen to agree with you. Racial profiling takes many aspects into account - just like any type of profiling. The simple fact is, that over the past few years, Muslims have posed more of a threat to Americans than others. So that should be taken into account when profiling, and not banned simply because it isn’t politically correct.
When police search for illegals in California, they racially profile. They are looking for HIspanics, because those are the people most likely to be illegal - not whites. Same deal here. Islam is a fundamentally peaceful religion - it is only if you take some of the phrases about “battling non-Muslims” out of context that you get a violent religion. But Fundamentalist Muslims are giving the rest of the religion a bad name. Maybe it is time for Muslims to unite against the Fundamentalists and do something about this horror. The Fundamentalists won’t listen to anyone else - so maybe the people who don’t like the profiling should start doing things to change it - like participate with the FBI instead of scream at the FBI for profiling.
